Pesticide Liability Shield
đ¨ This is an urgent message to stop legislation that is proposing a liability shield for pesticide companies so that they cannot be sued when their products cause harm to people.
The Backstory: Vaccine Liability Shield Playbook
In the 1970s to mid-1980s, lawsuits against vaccine companies were growing rapidly from millions to billions in liabilities.
Threatening to stop making vaccines in America (this would have been a victory), vaccine manufacturers successfully lobbied to create a liability shield, making them immune to lawsuits in state and federal courts if someone was injured. In other words, if a vaccine causes an injury to you, you canât sue. The vaccine company is no longer liable.
All the reward, without the risk. Naturally, this skyrocketed the vaccine industry.
Since 1986, the vaccine industry has đ
3x increase in the number of vaccines given to children
60x increase in global vaccine revenues
exploded profit margins
Now, Pharma is making billions in profits off vaccines with no risks of injuries they cause.
In 2021 alone, Pfizer made $37 billion in Covid-19 vaccines, the most profitable pharmaceutical in history.
This profit can then be used to influence the public by paying celebrities like Travis Kelce to advertise their products, creating a dangerous influence over American culture without any accountability.
It is not just the profits, itâs the incentives that are problematic.
If you donât have risk of liability, why waste all the money on research & development, safety testing, etc. to make sure the product is safe before shipping it to the public?
Fast forward to today, and there are no randomized, double-blind, saline placebo-controlled trials of the entire vaccine schedule.
Fortunately, there is a lawsuit fighting against this, but itâs not the vaccine companiesâ liability; rather, itâs the agencies that are funded by the taxpayers themselves.
Here is the vicious cycle driven by these incentives:
Create a vaccine with the least safety testing possible to save money
Release to the public with the backing of CDC, NIH, etc., to establish trust
Mandate in vaccine schedule to secure sales
Use profits to advertise products and others with no risk of lawsuits
Repeat
Create the Problem â Provide the Solution
Considering it usually takes a dramatic health event to implement a new vaccine in the schedule (ex., Polio, HIV, and Covid-19), you can argue that this liability shield even incentivizes the creation of the âpandemicsâ themselves.
Whether this actually happened in the past (I have my opinions), Iâll leave that for you to decide, but one thing that canât be argued is this: considering the hundreds of billions in revenue from the most recent pandemic, the incentives are certainly there to encourage such a thing.
đ¨ Liability Shield Playbook for Pesticides
Now, they are trying to implement this same playbook, but for pesticides.
Foreign chemical companies have launched a coordinated, multi-front campaign to secure unprecedented legal immunity for pesticide products in the United States. This strategic effort spans federal legislation, state laws, EPA rulemaking and Supreme Court litigation â all aimed at shielding manufacturers from accountability when their products cause harm to American farmers, property and communities.
~ Kelly Ryerson, Glyphosatefacts.com
In the next 2 weeks, this will be voted on through a regular spending bill that chemical companies are using to sneak in this liability shield.
Why This Matters
While difficult, you can avoid all vaccines. But pesticides? This is almost unavoidable.
When sprayed, pesticides donât just affect the food; they affect the soil too, making our yields less reliable and nutrient-dense.
Then, from the soil, it ultimately runs off into the water supply.
You can get organic, but the runoff might still sneak into your food and/or water, ultimately affecting you.
So not only does it destroy our macro-biome environment by weakening the soil, it also can seep into our micro-biome and destroy our guts.
Pesticides, like Glyphosate, cause all sorts of proven issues, including cancer, ADHD, infertility, sexual preference alteration, immune system weakening, lower IQ, asthma, and much more.
Would you ever pour a bowl of RoundUp in your cereal? Trick question: itâs already got it.
At best, modern-day pesticides are a disaster for our health.
So whatâs the worst-case scenario?
This Liability Shield Is Worst-Case Scenario
Monsanto (the maker of RoundUp, aka Glyphosate) has paid out over $10B in lawsuit settlements since 2018. There have been tens of thousands of plaintiffs against them.
This shield will prevent future lawsuits from occurring, creating the same incentives for pesticide companies as it did for vaccine companies, leading to the vicious cycle:
create and spray more pesticides without any safety tests to save money, because you have no risks if they cause harm
mass market it to the public, taking advantage of the trust of U.S. agencies
collect profits with no downstream liabilities
reinvest profits to mass-market products, tricking consumers into using them under the guise that they are âsafeâ
repeat
Just as Ozempic is using the 1930s Cigarette marketing playbook, Pesticide Companies are attempting to use the 1986 liability shield playbook that pharmaceutical companies used.
And just as the shield created terrible incentives for vaccine manufacturers, it will do the same for pesticide companies.
The irony, most Pharma companies also own pesticide companies, including Bayer purchasing Monsanto for $68 billion in 2018.
Not saying this happens or will happen, I will leave that for you to think for yourself, but it does give even the most destructive incentives, such as intentionally destroying natural systems, so farmers must rely on GMOs, pesticides, etc., in which pesticides cause chronic disease, leading to more reliance on pharmaceuticals.
đCall To Action
So what do we do about this?
Call the congresspeople.
On glyphosatefacts.com, Kelly Ryerson put together a list of numbers with a templated message.
The message đ
âI am calling regarding section 453 in the 2026 Interior Appropriations Bill. I am asking for Representative _____ to completely remove Section 453. This provision will remove accountability from chemical manufacturers, giving them immunity from lawsuits by defunding a critical type of label update under FIFRA. I do not support foreign chemical companies getting immunity. I do not want to lose my right to due process. Please protect Americansâ health and civil rights over the profits of these foreign chemical manufacturers.â
If you are a creator in the MAHA Underground, amplify this message. Use this article and/or do your own research to make compelling videos to influence your audience to make the call to their congressmen.
One of us could reach a few thousand, maybe a million if the video hits. But together, we could reach hundreds of millions around the world. This reach will make a change.
